Now let me proceed with my entry.
The recent fashion week collections offered previews of what's in store for the coming Fall/Winter 2012 season. Included are the staple furs (which seemed to have a sort of reinvention with designers using pelts as fabric or as accents.) to tweeds which are fashioned into over-sized coats and cropped jackets.
But since Fall/ Winter doesn't exactly apply in this side of the globe, most of these trends won't seem "wearable". However, I came across a couple of looks that I like and something that can be worn even if the temperature won't drop.
Designer Manish Arora seemed to have scoured the Paco Rabanne archives for this collection of shift dresses which seemed to be incorporated with chain mail (a Rabanne staple) and brings to mind a bit of "Mad Max" and "Barbarella".
For Martin Margiela it's all about volume as seen in the collection with pieces ranging from structured to almost box-like coats. Again, not all of the pieces are suited for tropical weather but here are a couple of pieces which I like.
I particularly like this androgynous look with a sporty feel to it.

Forever an innovator when it comes to experimenting with silhouettes.....
.....and shapes.
Dutch duo Viktor&Rolf presented a collection that was set against the backdrop of a full moon. The show consists mostly of draped pieces ranging from dresses to jumpsuits in colors and silhouettes that echoes Studio 54.....
.....and Halston.
Lastly, Dries Van Noten, a perennial user of prints,went on a trip to the Far East by way of the Victoria and Albert Museum archive by using its scarf collection and incorporating it in his own pieces which includes this.....
....and this personal favorite with samurai detail.
